Celebrating International Women’s Day with KORITE: Leadership, Impact, and the Gemstone World
This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating women whose leadership leaves a lasting mark—not only in the gemstone world, but in business and in the communities they support. Women are shaping how gemstones are mined, traded, and shared globally, and their influence extends far beyond the boardroom.
Guided by female leadership, KORITE influences decisions, partnerships, and the movement of gemstones from mine to market. This impact is especially meaningful in the Ammolite sector, where women leaders remain exceptionally rare. Leadership here is intentional, accountable, and focused on creating meaningful change—from day-to-day operations to long-term stewardship and visionary direction.

The industry is evolving quietly but powerfully. Women are setting new standards for responsible sourcing, transparency, and global collaboration—creating a shift that resonates with those who care about purchasing responsibly. Supporting female-led businesses, particularly Canadian ones, has never been more important, and for KORITE, it remains central to who we are.
ICA Recognition: Women Leading the Way
The impact of women’s leadership at KORITE reaches beyond the company’s operations—it’s being recognized across the broader coloured and Ammolite gemstone world. Recently, this influence was highlighted by the International Colored Gemstone Association, an organization that continues to champion women shaping global gemstone standards, ethical practices, and market development.

KORITE’s President and Owner, Amarjeet Grewal, was among the first women profiled in the Winter 2026 issue of InColor Magazine, a feature celebrating female leaders in gemstones, including the rare Ammolite sector. The article highlighted Amarjeet’s vision and her commitment to ethically and transparently mined Ammolite, showcasing her role in advancing traceable sourcing and industry standards. Read the Winter issue feature here.
Earlier, in the Spring–Summer 2025 edition of InColor Magazine, Amarjeet authored an article emphasizing Ammolite’s growing importance on the global market. Read the Spring–Summer issue here. Together, these features reflect her expertise and reinforce why responsible mining, traceability, and sustainable practices remain essential to the future of gemstones.
Reflecting on this recognition, Amarjeet shared:
“For decades, credibility in the coloured gemstone industry has been built on integrity, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships. Being recognized alongside women who lead with vision and purpose is a powerful reminder that we are not only participating in this industry—we are helping shape its future.”
ICA’s commitment to championing women is significant. By amplifying female voices and sharing their stories, the organization helps shift perceptions, inspire emerging leaders, and drive meaningful change across the global gemstone market.

KORITE also proudly supports the Moose Hide Campaign, a national movement dedicated to ending violence against women and children. Each year, hundreds of thousands of Canadians gather in ceremony and solidarity during the annual Moose Hide Campaign Day, standing together to raise awareness and take action against gender-based violence. Amarjeet is honoured to serve on the planning committee for the 2026 annual walk, further deepening KORITE’s commitment to safer and stronger communities.
Supporting Canadian female-led and community-driven organizations demonstrates that leadership and purpose extend beyond business performance—they are reflected in how we stand beside the communities where we live and work.
Building a Future With Purpose
The same commitment that guides KORITE’s community partnerships also shapes how Amarjeet shows up as a leader beyond the gemstone industry.
As a founding member of the The Sifarish Network Founders’ Club, she collaborates with purpose-driven entrepreneurs who support one another through mentorship and advocacy. She also helped plan the inaugural 2025 South Asian Inspiration Awards (SAIA), celebrating business leadership and community impact within Canada’s South Asian community.
Leadership at KORITE extends beyond business decisions—it’s about shaping industries and communities rooted in integrity, inclusivity, and responsibility. Every gemstone we offer carries a story of carefully mined and traced craftsmanship, connecting buyers to more than beauty, but to values that matter.
By advocating for inclusivity within the industry and supporting initiatives that advance women’s leadership and safety, KORITE is helping foster a future where opportunity is shared and responsibility is intentional.
