Ammolite is a gemstone which is traces its roots back 71 Million years.
The Ammolite is the remnant of a pre-historic cephalopods known as Ammonites and Baculites, these creatures lived in the subtropical sea known as the Western Interior Seaway.
As the Ammonites died they were buried by layers of bentonitic mud and eventually the ammonites become fossilized.
The results of tectonic pressure and mineralization formed the colorful gemstone which is almost exclusively mined by KORITE.
After mining the KORITE team works to refine, and clean the Ammolite specimens before hand inspecting, and cutting each stone to maximize its unique colour.
Lastly, our team hand craft each piece of jewellery choosing a unique stone with each piece.
This is why when you wear Ammolite you can be certain that the unique history of your Ammolite stone is one of a kind.
No, each Ammolite gemstone is unique. And that means unique colouring, patterns and even texture. This is due to the formation of the Ammolite and thickness of each layer of the gemstone, resulting in the worlds most unique gemstone.
