Placenticeras costatum | Size: 52 cm (20.5 in) | Weight: 12.5 kg (27.5 lbs)

This beautifully preserved Ammonite features outstanding natural shape and vibrant, full-spectrum colour on both sides. You'll find fiery reds, oranges, and golds shifting into rich greens and rare flashes of electric blue—making this a truly collectible piece of fossil art.

Distinct ribbing from the Ammonite’s ancient growth process enhances its iridescent surface, while prominent tubercles are visible on one side—classic features of this iconic species. This specimen was unearthed from the layers of the Bearpaw Formation at the KORITE mine in southern Alberta, the only region in North America where gem-quality Ammonites, known as Ammolite, are found.

Formed over 70 million years ago, the shell's original nacre has undergone a remarkable transformation into a brilliant, multi-hued gemstone prized around the world.

Each Ammonite fossil includes a custom wooden display stand, a certificate of authenticity, and complete customs documentation for international shipping.

KORITE is not responsible for any import duties or taxes that may be applicable.
