This ammonite has an excellent shape, with a nice, bright appearance. It displays lots of blues and purples on both sides of this ammonite. It also displays bright reds, oranges, golds and greens. It has excellent shape and is a very appealing specimen. This ammonite comes from the bottom of the Bearpaw formation at the KORITE mine. These are the layers where the best ammolite gemstones are found.
Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite's shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring.
