One of a kind gemstone

Our display will include an incredible array of ammonites and ammolite jewellery. You can also see the rough ammolite, the uncut version of our beautiful stone that we rarely share.

On top of our uniquely Korite ammonites and the Ammolite Gemstone, we will also be displaying some rare world class fossils from around the world. This year we are partnering with Euro Fossils and will have some remarkable fossils from Germany in our display.

Where the gemstones are coming from

For those who don’t know, Ammolite gemstone originates from prehistoric marine fossils that date back over 71 million years ago. You can only find it in North America.

The stone formed from tectonic pressure, intense heat and mineralization. It was discovered along riverbanks in Alberta in the 1900’s.

The incredible balance of historical scientific magic awakened the remarkable bright colours of the raw form of our gemstone. We are lucky to be sharing this variation of the stone at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.

We mine many variations of the ammonite and ammolite stone in Alberta today.

Among our discoveries, we have actually uncovered other fossils, such as marine and land dinosaurs. At Korite, we are happy to partner with the Royal Tyrell museum, which houses and displays many of our exquisite full ammonite fossils. Also, the museum assists us when we discover dinosaur fossilization during our mining practices.

Korite jewellery is made from strategically hand cut variations of the stone to bring out the gems bright and vibrant colours.

Authentic Korite Ammolite is ethically mined and certified by the Federal Department of Canadian Heritage. It is internationally recognized as the uniquely North-American exotic Ammolite gemstone and was granted its semi-precious gemstone status in 1981.

We are excited to share a variety of pieces from our jewellery collection at the Tucson Gem and Mineral Trade Show. You can also explore and shop for all our pieces on our website at www.korite.com
