A Memorable Visit: Troy and Lisa of Blackfoot Rocks and Gems Bless the KORITE Mine

Last month, we had the distinct honour of welcoming Troy and Lisa from Blackfoot Rocks and Gems to the KORITE mine, where they conducted a ceremonial blessing on the mine and selected hand specimens.

These blessed specimens will be gifted to voting members at an upcoming geology conference, with the aim of securing Calgary as the host city for the 2028 conference. This summer, the 37th International Geological Congress will be held in South Korea, where the decision for the next host city will be made.

This exclusive tour of the KORITE mine, took place just outside of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. From this mine, KORITE sources the majority of the world’s Ammolite gemstones, used in our gorgeous jewellery and hand specimens.

The images you see were captured during a walk along the riverbed adjacent to KORITE’s mine. We were thrilled to host the team from Mount Royal University and support their efforts to showcase Calgary as an outstanding host city.

Want to follow along their journey follow them on Instagram here.
