Want to know more about the Korite Ammolite gem?
Here’s the Coles notes version of where we started, our vision and what we believe in:
Our beautiful gemstone is found in limited deposits at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The gem itself is much rarer than other fine gemstones, even more so than diamonds.
Ammolite is made of the aragonite shells of marine mollusks more than 71 million years old, which exhibit an array of bright, iridescent colours.
With each gem, there are almost limitless colours, many gems being described as having a rainbow-like effect. The value of these unique gems only increasing because of the limited supply.
Today, Korite International mines most of the ammolite on the market. In 1981, the World Jewelry Confederation announced ammolite as an organic gemstone which in addition to KORITE’s ethical mining commitment make the gemstone not only a look good but a feel-good purchase.
