Canadian Ammonite
A large Canadian ammonite featuring coloration spanning the green and orange spectrum, with great coverage of color and even rare blue sections in some spots. This ammonite is unique due to the way in which the chambers were not filled with sediment when this ammonite was preserved in time Resulting in quite a thin Nacre making this one-of a-kind fossil all the more precious.
Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite's shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. It comes with a wood stand and a certificate of authenticity. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
Placenticeras costatum. This ammonite measures 34cm in diameter and 28.3cm high. Weight: 3.0kg.
