Tucson 2026: Showcasing Fossils and Ammolite to the Global Gemstone Community
KORITE returned to the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show 2026 for our second year, celebrating both fossils and gemstones with collectors, enthusiasts, and industry friends from around the world. Each year brings new faces, but the excitement of sharing the story of Ammolite—Canada’s rarest gemstone—and the remarkable fossils that inspire it never fades.

This year, our booth featured a one-of-a-kind mosasaur replica adorned with Ammonites, drawing attention from visitors fascinated by the natural history, artistry, and geology of fossils. We also showcased rare Ammonites with vibrant colours, including clam shells naturally incorporated into the Ammonite structure, many covered with Ammolite—a combination rarely seen. These specimens highlighted the intricate relationship between fossils and gemstones, offering visitors a unique perspective on the natural beauty of prehistoric life preserved in stone.

Tucson Highlights & Community Connections
During our three weeks in Tucson, not only did we showcase our Canadian fossils and Ammolite—we also engaged with the broader gemstone and paleontology community:
-
A special thank you to GIA Alumni Collective for another unforgettable Night at the Museum, celebrating the artistry and science of gemstones.
-
We loved connecting with female leaders at the international Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) GemWomens Breakfast event, sharing insights and inspiration.
-
We also spent time with colleagues at the Association of Applied Paleontological Sciences (AAPS) Dinner, strengthening bonds with fellow fossil enthusiasts and professionals.
These experiences highlight the vibrant community and collaborative spirit that make Tucson a truly unique event for both fossils and gemstones.
Fossil & Gemstone Highlights from Tucson 2026
Several observations and trends from Tucson underscored the growing interest in both of our industries:
-
Collectors are increasingly drawn to fossils that combine rarity and visual appeal
-
Ammolite continues to fascinate, for its colour and origin as a fossilized shell of prehistoric life, connecting geology, gemmology and natural artistry.
-
The gemstone and fossil community remains vibrant, with Tucson maintaining its position as the largest gathering of rare fossils, minerals, and gemstones in the world.
These observations highlight why Ammolite and rare fossils remain coveted, bridging the worlds of geology, paleontology, and fine collecting.

Looking Ahead: Denver 2026
While Tucson 2026 was inspiring, we’re already looking forward to the Colorado Mineral & Fossil Fall Show, taking place September 9–14, 2026, at the Denver Delta Hotel.
Stop by Booth T-102 to explore rare Ammonites, exceptional fossils, Ammolite specimens, and one-of-a-kind displays. We can’t wait to share these natural treasures and their stories with collectors, enthusiasts, and fossil lovers in Colorado and beyond.
Gratitude
We are deeply thankful to everyone who visited our Tucson booth, admired our fossil and gemstone displays, and shared in our passion for the natural world. Your curiosity and support inspire us to continue exploring, sharing, and celebrating the fascinating intersection of fossils and gemstones on a global stage.
