Ammolite is one of the worlds rarest gemstones mined only in Alberta, Canada. Its origns are linked to the fossilized remains of 71 Million year old ammonites. Under precisly perfect conditions these fossils mineralized into brilliant displays an opal-like iridescence. Ammolite was recognized as an official gemstone by the World Jewellery Confederation in 1981.
