We can assure you that all Ammolite gemstones in our products are real. KORITE has been around since 1979 (43 years) and has set the global standard for Ammolite. Not only do we operate the most significant commercial Ammolite mine in the World, Ammolite is almost exclusively mined by KORITE.
Ammolite on its own is not strong enough to withstand the wear and tear jewellery goes through on a regular basis. On the Mohs hardness scale, Ammolite is rated at a 3.5, similar to a pearl. Since Ammolite is softer, all our jewellery gemstones are comprised of a natural black ironstone backing sourced from our mine, followed by a natural Ammolite gemstone, topped with a strong quartz cap. The three layers, called “triplet stones,” are then fused together creating a hard stone that can withstand the jewellery process. This protects the Ammolite and is a technique used for a variety of other soft gemstones, such as Opals.
We would be more than happy to talk to you about our jewellery and Ammolite if you have any further questions or concerns. Please email email@example.com with your phone number and we will have someone from our team call you.
